    preventing key presses

    im trying to code when player unlocks ability activate key press "p" but i also whant to prevent the user from just pressing all the keys in the hope they might accidently hit the right key.

    Could i use ass array and set a value to player unlocks ability and only activate it when the condition is met?

    or is there a better simple way?

    I'm not an expert, but you can activate and deactivate groups of events, so put the event for your ability into a group of event(s). Once the player actvates the ability, use the Speacial Object to activate the group of events, therefore activating the ability.

    Ass array... that's a mildly overenthusiastic word filter.

    You can do this in just about any way you choose with any storage object - AssArray would work fine. You would just need to add a condition checking that to your "Player presses P" event, or put it in a group that's then activated as legocacher said above.
