    Any chance of better compression?

My flash app is a bit large!

In Flash CS4 I could change it so that the images came out lower quality when the game was exported to .swf. This helped save a lot of memory due to the immense number of animation frames.
Any chance of anything similiar being done with this?

Also, I wanted to lower the quality of the sounds to free up some memory. I tried exporting with a lower bitrate than 160kbps and it refused to work.

PS. The Flash exported is really excellent overall. I didn't think it would work so well! £50 well spent : )

As you have noticed this isn't possible.

Right now I'd recommend you to change your applications graphics mode.

This is done in the properties window of your application. Try turning is down to 256 colors for maximum compression.

But I warn you that you have to make a backup of your application first, as you cannot undo the color loss.

256 colors will not change anything for Flash : the images are 4 bytes per pixel zipped.

    Really?
I changed it to 256 colours and the .swf came out several megabytes smaller.

My test came out a bit smaller, but the file itself wasn't that big at first.

Probably because SWF has some higher level compression that compresses the data after MMF2 has generated it?
