I like the Line Surface Object better. And the Draw Line extension was wierd and had some odd bugs with the interface.
Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

Ok but then what does that mean for V2 extensions? the same thing will happen for V3? or is the SDK/engine now at a point where it will be able to use V2 extensions in V3 as the structures are good enough?Originally Posted by Jamie
I didn't have MMF1.5 although i had a old copy of TGF but i was just curious as to why they don't just allow old projects to be run rather than just using them so thanks for the info. I have no idea what MMF1.5 was like but it sounds not so great the way people describe it. If thats the case and V2 objects won't be able to get used then i hope V3 does everything right from the start since using 3rd party objects is one of the main advantages with this app so not being able to use them each version just seems a odd thing to do.
It's also why i hope there is a open source/code snippets/3rd party team projects forum area at some point as some extension devs seem to make things then go and never return. Then nobody can ever update the extension and another version is made by someone else to replace it etc.
Some devs send their source code to Clickteam for that reason, but I'm not sure how many.

I'm fairly sure MMF2 extensions will be incompatible with MMF3. Let's hope the MMF3 SDK is function based rather than regurgitating the internal structures to developers.

Let's hope the suggestions in the thread about making MMF3 more like a professional authoring tool!
- Extended support for widgets
- Easier integration of extensions
- Plugins (can change the interface and the way code is handled)
Hopefully this should be enough to make MMF3 able to natively support various game modes without gimmicks (no need for an "iso extension" or "do you wish to make an isometric game" - using a plugin would make MMF translate X and Y coordinates to an iso plane automatically, and cram in a Y coordinate as well)
But back on topic, a "modem object" would be great if it could be used to answer a line, detect number presses on the other side, playback sounds trough the line and forward a call so we could create those answering machines [that everybody hates] trough MMF!
Edit: Though I guess it would have to be called the phone object then.
Masybe this should be submitted to the Bidding Pool then... it sounds like a very cool extension

Hmm, I can't see it being very useful.. :P
Specialized applications I guess. For the same reason my brand new Thinkpad still comes with an RJ11 port on it.
Having DTMF capabilities on the modem object can let you:
1.- phone controlled games(on tv shows), i.e you you have a roulete game some one calls and by pressing a key on the phone roulette stops.
2.- have some control over a pc, some times a computer can't or shouldn't have an internet connection, but you can do some stuff just calling and presing keys
3.- some kind of cheap answering machine on offices or something
ie. no one at office someone calls and then the computer answers a recorded voice offers a list options like leaving message or something else.
4.- you offer technical support or provide services to registered customers so someone calls then you ask him/her to type his id code on the phone computer detects the numbers searchs a database and validates user.
and many other things, but tv games that have games for people calling are popular in many countries so that could be one of the main uses of a modem object with DTMF ofcourse
