    Usage?

    Maybe it will sound stupid but for what we can use shaders? In theory it should be only some kind of pixel effects, but... is that all?

    Maybe thanks to that this part of forum will move on!

    It's for in HWA to add special special effects that you can't normally do. Whole frames, layers, objects, and sub apps can have shaders on them. What the shader does really depends.

    From what I notice shaders were used mostly for some graphics effects (so mostly as pixel shaders).

    But also I notice few of them allowing to make nice almost 3D effects with lightening or similar graphic improvements like with Lens extension, so how to take this one?

    Right now these are only good for games really. I have requested ways to store or bake them (so it will apply the effect and then store it like it was the original image) and also save the applied results. This would let you use them like some paint/image editing apps plug-ins but this has yet to happen so in my opinion they are just for game fx at the moment.

    By the way if anyone is new to these and wondering the .xml is to set the controls you can use via MMF and the .fx is the actual shader/effect part. Both are readable text formats so you can write them with text editors like notepad as well as using the built in editor.
