    Pulling Problem and Shooting Problem

I'm making an 8-direction game and I want the main character to be able to pick up a multitude of weapons. How can I make it so you can switch through weapons?

Also, I want the main character to be able to pull crates and the like. How can I do this?

Hi Duggabboo. I have various examples on my site for such things as this. It may help to look at some of the coding.

Re: Pulling Problem and Shooting Problem

    For inventory:
Use a flag for each weapon. Use an alterable value for the current weapon. Make a button to advance the alterable value. If internal flag "Alterable Value A" is not on, then you can't select that weapon.

    For pulling crates:
It depends on how you want to do it. I guess the easiest way for pulling crates would be to have a button that "latches you on" to the crate. Have an alterable value that is the x offset from the character, and another that is the y offset from the character. then just always set the crate's position to the player's position plus the offset.
