    Re: iPhone testing

You can develop for a mac on a windows machine.
It's just the iphone that you can't develop for without a mac.

That makes perfect sense from a business perspective, they'd be stupid not to make it that way.

If you reeeally want to develop on a windows machine there is a sdk that was made, but it only works on unlocked iphones. I can't remember where I found it though.

They'd be nice not to do it that way And they'd receive more income from developers because there'd be more developers submitting, and with more developers comes better games, and with better games comes higher demand... w/e maybe I'm wrong but it just doesn't seem stupid either way.

Well I personally haven't encountered any other instance of this.

Yeah, the PC market is huge... if Apple let you build iphone games on any PC, there would be a whole lot more games and apps for iphone to put in their store, and earn a percentage of profit from every sale. It's almost stupid for them to restrict it like they are doing. Yeah it forces people to buy a mac, but you'd get far more app submissions if PC users could build apps.

    Re: iPhone testing

They are selling their own computers and OS and dev software, why would they want you developing totally on a PC... this would be a strange and silly business decision, they can make a lot more money selling their hardware and software than a game made on the iTunes Store.... Apple seem to be doing pretty alright on the uploads/downloads they have so far without the PC market.

You can absolutely make the game on a Windows OS, but it has to be built on a Mac. If you have a finished game I don't know why you wouldn't buy a Mac to get it published as it's a pretty small investment if your game is good!
