    Re: Stack messages

Very lame technique but it should work. A better way would be stacking 512kb chunks immediately and then send them until there is nothing left.

    Re: Stack messages

It's easier to receive them, though - there's an Append received stack to file action.

    Re: Stack messages

Speaking of stacks, what are the TCP and UDP limits for Lacewing?

    Re: Stack messages

For TCP, it's around 65528 bytes (+ or - a few bytes, depending on what kind of message you're sending), and for UDP, it's your MTU

MTU would be around x bytes?

That wouldn't make much sense either, as 0xFFFF (ie. a short) results in 65535, the maximum value for a short, and then you have to take headers into account, which is about 5 bytes, depending on what packet type you're sending.

Well, you can expect a MTU of at least 576 bytes, so taking headers into account, that'll be 571 bytes for the message.

    Re: Stack messages

    MTU is a user-configurable variable.

You can change it through many applications.

Also, you shouldn't be using UDP Stacks to transfer files.

also, 65536 bytes is 64 kilobytes - or 512 kilobits. You're probably looking for the first one, in which case your limit is 64 kb (excluding headers - so it's a bit less).

    Keep that in mind.

    Re: Stack messages

Fimbul, he's been sending stacks to transfer files since forever ago. He apparently set up a loop to check the file for holes afterwards -_-
