Is there a way to set up a kick/ban system along with the ability to give each player's name a different color randomly assigned to them when they log in? This would just help a bit with confusion.

You should do that serverside. Learn C++/Python, or just use the Server Extension for MMF2.

I have looked at the Server extension. It has a few extra tools available, but for the most part, I either lack the tools, or I am just having a hard time following what the comands listed on the server extension are. I do not see anything reguarding this other than "host", "stop hosting" , or "select channel master".

Are you sure? I see lots more than that:

If you only see Host, Stop Hosting, and Select Channel Master, then something is seriously wrong :\

I'm confused about how running logic on a server would make a game like this more secure. What could someone manipulate in this version that they couldn't in a version that took advantage of a custom server?

    Re: Lacewing Video Tutorials

If all your logic is client side, they can relatively easily:

    * Intercept packets when they leave/enter the client software (Wireshark, WPE) and modify/stop them (WPE)

    * Send fake packets to/from the client software (WPE)

    * Modify the client software memory, altering behaviour (think trainers, TSearch, etc)

    * Extract the game as a CCN (hex editor) and run it as a subapp, making it easy to modify alterable strings/values

If the logic is serverside, all these things are useless, because all it'll do is change what that client sees, and probably result in the client sending the wrong data to the server (instaban time!)

    Re: Lacewing Video Tutorials

Ah okay so its not just about running game logic on a server the security also comes from detecting erroneous data when it's received by the server.
