Who said we can't have fun??? What if we want to play the game, then extend it to messing with it to get more fun? The better the hack, the better the buy.

I hope you're strictly speaking about single player gaming. Not online multiplayer.

Regardless of that, the subject of creating an application able to manipulate another application in MMF2 is an interesting one.

Next what is needed is a 1 button complete any game app with 999999+ point highscores.

I don't get why people would want to play a game they have basically fixed to win though other than to create the illusion they are good at it. The real fun is in the challenge of a game.

If things are too challenging for a player, the fun is lost.

Depends on the situation. If you are cheating in a single player game, who cares - as long as you are having fun I don't see any harm in it. HOWEVER, if you are cheating in multi-player games, you are ruining that fun for many other people.

    Re: Aimbot?

I've seen games that practically rely on cheating to exist. Gunbound is an example. Most, if not all, advanced users cheat in some way (mostly aimbots).

The situation is so intense that Softnyx refuses to solve the problem completely - easy as it might be to do so - instead relying on ineffective third-party security tools (nProtect game guard).

They even take into account cheating when pricing their items!

    Re: Aimbot?

Well, its not so much that the game is fun after cheating, its knowing that you made the cheat and that it WORKS

I scripted in SRL + Scythe (or whatever it's called now) about 3 years ago and just made one script. It was probably what got me thinking that scripting with text wasn't too hard and pushed me to learn some Java and C++ which then led to me trying to make extensions for MMF2...

Just gotta say, it's fun when you make a script (or a MMF2 hack!) that works

Well then go play solitaire instead.

Hacking on online games is stupid and is one of the reason why PC games are least popular. It's not fun to just walk around headshotting anyone without doing anything other that pressing WASD.

The fact is that hackers are simply superior computer users,

To them (us), it's an art which can be as graceful as programing high-class software.

It's unfortunate that the final results can ruin games, but it's the nature of the real world...

There are always those who will rise above and dominate given a situation; A real world parallel - Bankers
