    Zoom / Runtime Scaling?

Hi Guys, been a while since I last visited these forums and actually it's been a long time since I last developed anything, been a busy few months!

Anyhow, quick and simple question (seen as tho the search for UBB is still ineffective, even using advanced search techniques!)

If my app res is 640x480 and I have a frame the size of say 2000x2000 - is there a way of the player being able to 'zoom' at runtime, just like the way they would on Rollercoaster Tycoon 2/Sim City 3 etc?! If so, what method would be best, just need a quick jump fire to give me incentive!

    Much Love!

Btw, I've tried it with the Lens Object, which kinda gives the right impression, but doesn't accurately zoom the whole 'frame' or application asin if I have a toolbar 'top of frame' it won't bring that in with the zoom, not only that, at 640x480 the Lens object is way too intense on the memory!

    Re: Zoom / Runtime Scaling?

This is... sort of... impossible. What you would have to do is manually scale and reposition every obejct everywhere, and even with HWA that might be too much. This would also mean you would need to vonvert all backdrops to actives. The thing I recoomend is ethier: Don't use MMF2 if you really absolutely want to do zooming, or just forget Zooming. This is for much more advanced things and while it would be cool in a game, it would be terribly difficult to implement with MFM2. Some people have done it, at the cost of precious memory however. If you really want to do this with MMF2, then go ahead and try the scaling technique.

    Re: Zoom / Runtime Scaling?

Good call, maybe something to think about for the development of MMF3 for the boys, runtime zooming in and out of the frame, shouldn't be too much of a problem if its hard coded into the engine?

Ok, so apart from that query then LB, is there a quick or surefire way I can scale my current applications graphics in bulk in edit mode? it's still 640x480 resolution, but the graphics are too big for my liking, to scale everything down would be great, any such method without having to scale each active and backdrop down individually?

Right click on your application on the tree control, and choose Clone.
