Well I was hoping it could be something inbuilt into MMF.
And I looked at a directory packing extension but the only one I could see was zip files. I dont want it in a zip format if I can avoid it. is there another extension that does that?

"Directory Packer" literally is the name of the extension.

That's what Nifflas' Knytt Stories uses for its installer and map files. It doesn't have any compression, though.

Hmm thanks I will look into it.
Would it be possible for people to see the files inside the directory though? If there is no compression, is there encryption at least?

Hmm, have you tried? Maybe the files get compressed in MMF2's maximum compression mode; I don't really know.

I think MMF2 compresses the binary elements, but it will still be extracted to a temporary directory at runtime. And you need to extract the thing anyway, so it's going to end up raw data either way.

If someone wants access to the resources, they'll get it.

yeh you are right. I will play around with that extension and start a new thread if I have any questions.
But thanks again LB for the article, I finally learnt how the binary data elements work

Would it be possible to put data elements into sub-application and when you would do updater or something like that, you can only update the sup-application file and not needing on updating the main .exe?
