Okay, this isn't a problem with my game code but with the editor itself.

I haven't opened my mfa file for about 2 weeks now, and when I finally do, I can't click on objects in the editor- the mouse pointer is replaced with a hand and I can only drag the frame around. How do I get out of this mode?

I would guess that this is a stuck key on your keyboard. I'm pretty sure you can normally do that by holding ctrl and dragging. It's worth checking ctrl, shift, alt (both sides) and scroll lock to see if they're stuck whenever anything strange happens like this (in any program).

Tapping your SpaceBar should fix this, it has happened to me before.
