    Decelerate before turning

I'm making a platform game and I recently released a demo to a forum, and one of the major complaints was:

"3. Turning on a dime. He needs to decelerate first, then turn the opposite direction."

He's referring to the fact that, when walking left or right, pressing the opposite direction makes him instantly turn around and he retains his speed. Needless to say, that's unrealistic. Could someone help me out?

Oh right, sorry. No, I'm just using the included platform engine. Nothing special.

    Re: Decelerate before turning

you're gonna hear this alot, but if you want to make a reappy good platformer, DONT use that built in movement. You might also be told to create a custom platform engine using events and fastloops... this is also not necessary.

learn to use the Platform movement object. Theres a learning curve, but once you learn it you'll be able to do any cool platformer related stuff VERY easily. Look for examples using this extension.

    good luck
