    Matrix transform shader [request]!

    I think that this would be a great shader if someone would undertake it. Basically, it would take an image and a matrix and then stretch the image to match the deformation matrix.

    er, shouldn't this work with any arbitrary pixel shader?
    You don't have to 'stretch the image' afaik, if I'm understanding what you're asking. OpenGL will iterate through each pixel on your image one by one, applying the pixel shader to each pixel's X/Y coordinates. If your pixel shader is just a transformation matrix of the form

    [A B]
    [C D]

    Then it will multiply the matrix of the coordinates by this:

    ...... [A B]
    [X Y]*[C D]

    = [AX+CY BX+DY]


    For that pixel, the output X/Y after this transformation will be used as the source X/Y location on the original image, from which the color is taken. A transformation matrix will only need to be a 2x2 matrix, and will work on any image regardless of size

    Why are you talking about OpenGL? HWA MMF shaders are DirectX 8/9 SM2/3 HLSL code...

    Maybe you could write the shader for him, as you seem to know so much about shaders
    Don't forget the xml file that tells MMF about the shader params.

    oops opengl was a typo in there >.<
