How to make a "slow motion" effect on the game?

How to put a "slow motion" (or bullet time) effect on a platform game?

An easy way to make a slow motion effect is by lowering the FPS of your game.

Viewtiful that is how to make frame-by-frame motion, not slow motion.

Re: How to make a "slow motion" effect on the game?

I was away from the pc, sorry for the late aswer, haha.
LB: If I undertod right what you asked, you want to know what I want with this? One of the things, for example, is that when the hero swings his sword, it can deflect or destroy bullets. but the bullets of the guns on the game will be so fast that most of the time it would be necessary lucky to use it to your defense (since bullet damage almost always would be almost lethal on the game).
So the player could activate some ability to activate a "bullet time" effect (wich then would activate on the bullets some cool trace effect) and try to reflect/destroy some bullets that are going after him.
Other examples would be for improve dramatic/cool situations/moves.

Overall, everything moving and the speed of the animations have to slow down

StephenL: I am reading right now the tutorial you posted.

    StephenL:
I read the tutorial (just not downloaded the thing with him yet). but, if I understood correctly, to do it the way he has show in the tutorial, I would have to not be using the "platform moviment object".
I can do what is said on that tutorial using the "platform moviment object"?

Why you guys said that this "lowering the FPS of your game" wouldn't work as a slowmotion effect? Or it can be used for what I want?

Re: How to make a "slow motion" effect on the game?

Crap, I just downloaded the .exe example. it looks to much cooll, since the sound is slowed too...
    dam...
that means I have to erase all that I did so far with the movimentations of the hero and start a custom movimentation build (unles there is a way to keep using the "platform moviment object")

Well, I will see if I understand how it all works and, using a copy of the example, I will start from zero again (dam).

You can use the PMO, you just have to slow the speed down and the animation and such.
