    Attaching Health to Bad Guy

    Hello again,

I already know how to give a bad guy health points and have them subtract until they hit 0 and die. I need to know how to also attach a health bar to a bad guy. This I am guessing would also help me add a health or lives to a second player, which I also need to know. Thanks!

    Carlos C.

To attach a health bar to a bad guy, you need to do something like the following..

    Create an Always Condition
Under the bar action box, set position. Then select the relative to radio box, then select the player character... make sure the x and y boxes = 0.

You will need to change the x and y values in the dialogue box alittle bit to tinker with its position, but you can always edit the action after.

    Hope that makes sense

    Jason

You also need to use an alterable value for the enemies/players and just set the counters to this alterable value. When damage is taken, subtract from the alterable value. (It has to start higher than 0) When the alt value <= 0 then destroy the enemy. Also Pick a Counter at Random and destroy it.

I have a Health Bar Example on my website that may be useful.

LB, that's all unnecessary - he said he knows how to do that part . You can do this in one always event -

    Always:
-Set maximum value to Max(maxvalue( "Health" ), health("enemy"))
-Set position of Health to 0,0 of enemy
    -Set current value to health("enemy")

Just curious, where does it say this? I would like to know for future reference so I don't ever give information that other people might not know.

Sorry I didn't mean to offend you LB, and I know it's good information, I just didn't want to confuse the OP and I didn't want others to think this problem was necessarily solved and not give it a second look.
