I get a "virus alert" about mouse object

    Hello

I keep getting a "virus alert" from my kaspersky AV sayin that the mouse object (kcmouse.mfa) contains Trojan.Win32.Agent.eerw

Kcmouse.mfa is part of MMF2 bonus pack II, so I assume this is an error on the part of my AV.

Still it wants to tell me about this "trojan" often and it is annoying. plus many of my apps use this extension so I can't just delete it.

    Any suggestions?

    Dave

Re: I get a "virus alert" about mouse object

I searched my particular "virus" on the forum, and got nothing

A search of "trojan" shows That this is likely a false positive - I will follow up with the AV company.

Weird because it just started a few weeks ago...

That's the best thing to do. Report the false positive to Kasperski.

Norton has many problems, I'd switch to McAfee personally; I have been using it for 5-6 years, and it has never ever detected one of my applications as anything.

    Regards

    He's using Kaspersky, not Norton

Every one of these virus/trojan false positive alert threads ends up filled with people recommending people to switch antivirus. It's getting a bit ridiculous.

Weird, virustotal doesn't report any problem for kcmouse.mfx, even for Kaspersky AV. Maybe they have already fixed it?

Or, his is actually infected with something. Can't ignore that possibility...

Re: I get a "virus alert" about mouse object

    I suppose that is possible

But when I delete kcmouse.mfx the messages stop.

reinstall from a fresh DL of bonus pack 2 and back it comes.

Anyway, I have submitted it. This is in reference to a computer I use at work, so I have to use what the IT department requires.

My personal box (McAffee) shows nothing.

    Thanks for the replies!
(it is actually kcmouse.mfx listed in the warning -poor typing on my part...)

Sorry for bringing this back up. Looks like NOD32 began picking kcmouse.mfx up as a trojan as well.
