    Precise collision detection...

    Hey, folks!

I am in need of having precise collision detection. Somewhere I had seen a tutorial on how to precisely tell when a box fell onto another shape. Anyone know where that tutorial is?

    Thank you!

    Most graciously...

    Re: Precise collision detection...

-Object A is overlapping Object B

What do you mean more precise? Is the above condition not precise enough? It is for practically everything... As long as you have fine detection enabled...

    Re: Precise collision detection...

I have my fine detection on for my breakout clone game for both paddle and ball. It seems to work when it wants to. It works, but not consistently. I tried to do a hotspot I know I am doing it wrong. So basically if the ball hits the paddle on the left the ball goes diagonal left, hits center goes up, hits right goes diagonal right. I have tried something like this and it just overrides everything else and goes just one direction.

    Try this:

    -Collisin with Paddle
--Ball: Look in direction of Paddle
    --Ball: Set Direction to Dir("Ball")+16

Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

    Re: Precise collision detection...

You're probably thinking of the fastloop tutorial.
What you need is probably specific to your own situation, but the basic concept for perfectly precise collision detection is all in there.
