    Make a character jump...WITHOUT platform movement

    I need to make a character jump while using 8 directions. Kinda like older nintendo games, Double Dragon is an example. They move around the screen and jump, but the main area isn't a flat platform. How does that work?

    The shadow has the 8 direction movement and the character has the animations and jumping.

    right, however if I set my character to "platform" he can jump, but he can't walk freely without falling. If I set him to "eight directions" he can walk freely, but can't jump on platforms. So how do i combine the two? I want to be able to walk around my world, ala Double Dragon, but be able to climb ladders and sit on platforms it climbs. Not sure if that makes sense. :P

    No, you should not use an inbuilt moevement for the jumping. It will be simpler to control it yourself.

    You'll need two shadows it seems, one to always be on the ground, and another to be underneath the player to be on platforms and such. I don't know much about the methods but I know what you mean, sort of a non-diagonal isometric, right?
