    Problem loading a CCN file using Vitalize...

    Hey, folks.

    I am relatively new to both MMF2 Developer and the Vitalize plug-in. I am working on a first application intended for online usage (and therefore using the Vitalize plug-in). But I seem to be having a problem using it correctly.

    Is it my understanding that one first places a Vitalize object into the MMF2 project, then include the URL that would be used to download the CCN file?

    Once I render the CCN file and post the CCN file (and its accompanying HTML file) to a test Web site, I see the Vitalize logo display in the Web browser, but the CCN file never loads. (The browser status bar says "Done.") I am using the latest Vitalize browser plug-in on Firefox.

    I have the following HTML source code, which I generated using LB's awesome Vitalize code-generation program:

    <OBJECT ID="Ultimus Process Designer Simulation" WIDTH=1024 HEIGHT=768 type="application/x-cnc"
    CLASSID="CLSID:EB6D7E70-AAA9-40D9-BA05-F214089F2275"
    CODEBASE="http://www.clickteam.com/vitalize4/vitalize.cab#Version=4,0,249,1">
    <PARAM NAME="URL" VALUE="http://cadams-test/onlinehelp/java/" />
    <PARAM NAME="ProgressBar" VALUE="510,350,100,20" />
    <PARAM NAME="ProgressBarColor" VALUE="0,0,255" />
    <PARAM NAME="ProgressBarBorderColor" VALUE="0,255,255" />
    <PARAM NAME="BackColor" VALUE="255,255,255" />
    <EMBED TYPE="application/x-cnc"
    SRC="http://cadams-test/onlinehelp/java/"
    checkversion="4,0,249,6"
    PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.clickteam.com/vitalize4/download.html"
    WIDTH=1024
    HEIGHT=768>
    </EMBED>
    </OBJECT>

    (Please nevermind that the directory path refers to Java. I was testing Java output and is just the name of that directory.)

    Could anyone direct me to what I'm doing wrong in setting up the Vitalize plug-in?

    Thank you very much! Have a great day!

    Re: Problem loading a CCN file using Vitalize...

    Hey, Jeff.

    I seem to have run into a new problem now... After making your recommended changes then opening the HTML file, both IE and Firefox crash.

    So, both browsers seem to be accessing the CCN file... Could it be that I'm using an extension not supported by the Vitalize plug-in? Or would MMF2 Developer warn me that a specific extension is not available for the plug-in before it compiled (much as it does when trying to output to Java using an unsupported extension)?

    Thank you for your help!

    If you could put a link to the page it might be helpful

    In general Vitalize is not really up to date with browser changes so it might be best to switch to Java applets or Flash.

    Yves having to fix the plug in every time browser change things and hardly anyone uses Vitalize anymore it might be time to consider retiring the technology.

    Re: Problem loading a CCN file using Vitalize...

    Hey, Jeff.

    Thank you for looking at this project for me. I uploaded a ZIP file which contains the MMF2 Developer project file as well as its accompanying MFA files to the File Archive section. (I couldn't grant you access to the server itself, as it is an internal-only server which I don't have authorization (or the ability) to expose outside the company firewall.

    I had not realized that the Vitalize technology was old. I had actually thought that the Vitalize plug-in was ClickTeam's way of using as much of their "stand-alone executable" technology as possible.

    When I started experimenting with Java output, I was dismayed by how many extensions I couldn't use for Java output. So, I started experimenting with Vitalize.

    I'll have to go back to experimenting with Java output, then. I do have a question about rendering Java output, which I'll post in that forum.

    Thank you again for taking a quick look at this project. I really appreciate it. I hope you have a great evening!
