Re: Selling a Flash game - the story of CannonBob

Thanks David, but i have a question!

For the moment, i had not bought the SWF Plugin Exporter for MMF2, so i would know if MochiAds Api is also compatible with Vitalize 4 (or higher versions) ?

So thanks for sharing, the tip of displaying the ads when the level loading appear is an brilliant idea!

No. Mochi is strictly for Flash games only.

Very well written, informative and inspirational! I keep asking myself why I haven't gone after sponsorship... now I know I will.

Re: Selling a Flash game - the story of CannonBob

This is brilliant. It's inspiring me to work with MMF2 more. I'm working on an arcadey game that will be Flash-based, but I was thinking of releasing a paid "deluxe" version for iPhone and Android when the runtimes are available.

Obviously, this won't be possible if I sell to a sponsor. But it is tempting.

Re: Selling a Flash game - the story of CannonBob

Not so fast Shaun! It's actually allowed to make ports of your game. Your sponsor (usually, if it's a primary license) pays you money for their logo to be shown on web distribution. Their logo, links and API is spread all over the internet, but that's all that they pay for. You can still sell sitelocked versions of your game, as well as porting it to the iPhone or the Android or whatever. As long as you don't sell the IP, then you still have the rights to do whatever you want outside of the flash platform (excluding sitelocks) if that makes sense.

    Not sure that was clear.
