    Spinning/Orbiting Actives for Corlen

This simple example shows how to make objects spin around a point.

Good example, but why go through the work of using math? You could simply use MMF's circular movement without any hassle at all.

Everyone has always completely disregarded these great movements (Circular, Sinewave, Vector) and used complex trig equations instead. I really don't understand why, they work perfectly. I think I will create a thread.

I used it to show him also how to use Sin() and Cos(), because in the other thread (that I forgot to link to, oops) he mentioned that he forgot how to use them.

It's better to use a custom movement than a built-in one even if it uses trig functions, because it is waaaaay more customizeable.

    Re: Spinning/Orbiting Actives for Corlen

I agree with using trig functions.
It may not be as quick and simple, but when I have code, I like to be able to control it all myself. If there's a problem, I know for sure it's my code, because I wrote all of it. Also, if I want to make slight adjustments, or know exact measures, I can find out. With custom movements, the velocity and accelerations values don't mean anything to me. I'd rather know how many pixels per frame we're moving.

We can't always have these awesome movements to use, and besides, learning/re-learning trig will be very helpful!
