mouse over events

I drew a map and have active pictures on top of each country on the map that I want to appear when the mouse hovers over them and disappear when the mouse moves away.

Re: mouse over events

There is an event called "Mouse pointer is over an object" or something, use this.

Mouse Pointer is over Object 1
- Make Object 1 reappear

Mouse Pointer is over Object 2
- Make object 2 reappear

Mouse Pointer is over Object 3
- Make object 3 reappear

To make them disappear, create a new event with all the "Mouse pointer is over...X..." and then right click on each and Negate them, so it will look like this:
[color:#FF0000]XMouse Pointer is over Object A
[color:#FF0000]XMouse Pointer is over Object B
[color:#FF0000]XMouse Pointer is over Object C
- Make Object 1 Invisible
- Make Object 2 Invisible
- Make Object 3 Invisible

Re: mouse over events

You could also set all other map object to Invisible in the same Mouse Over event. (kind of brut force)

Mouse over MapOb1
- Set MouseOb1 to Visible
- Set MouseOb2 to Invisible
- Set MouseOb3 to Invisible
- Set MouseOb4 to Invisible

Mouse over MapOb2
- Set MouseOb1 to Invisible
- Set MouseOb2 to Visible
- Set MouseOb3 to Invisible
- Set MouseOb4 to Invisible

Re: mouse over events

Or my preferred way, have the first event an "Always" which sets all to invisible, and the below events individually toggle visibility when the mouse goes over a map element. For increased simplicity, pack everything into a qualifier!

= Always
- Set Country1 to Invisible
- Set Country2 to invisible
etc...

= On Mouse over Country1
- Set Country1 to Visible

etc...

Re: mouse over events

Only problem with Always is that it's constantly running over and over. For most things that's not an issue for performance, but I tend to avoid using Always unless necessary.

Re: mouse over events

Assuming there's only one of each object, the best is probably:

Mouse Pointer is over Object 1
+Only one action when event loops
- Make Object 1 reappear

[color:#FF0000]XMouse Pointer is over Object 1
+Only one action when event loops
- Make Object 1 disappear

...repeat for other objects...

This way you don't constantly hide/show the objects, which I'm assuming would cause them to be redrawn every frame.
