Saving user data in MMF2 Flash?

I'm looking for a way to store and retrieve, much like regular flash games can do, a "flash player cookie".

There are several games I'd like to make that would be much more fun to play if they could store what stage/puzzle/ect the user is at between sessions.

For the purpose of this, a session is defined as closing the browser window, and then coming back to the game later. In other words, I need something that's the equivilent of what the INI object does for downloadable exe games. I need to save the data even if the program(the flash) is closed and reopened.

Lots of flash games I've seen on the net do this, somehow, so I'd imagine the flash player itself supports it. However, I have no idea how one would go about setting it up in MMF2. The current flash extensions don't support it as far as I can tell. (At least the default ones, haven't had time to check user made ones yet.)

Is there a way to go about this with MMF2 Standard?

Wow, really? So all INI calls are converted to the equivilant flash code to save stuff when it compiles a fla?

I don't know why I never thought to actually try that before. :p That's really really sweet!

Yes, all you have to do is give the INI file a filename (but not folder) when the frame is started, such as "mysave.ini".

When testing this on Windows without exporting to Flash, it'll go into the Windows folder, which is less than ideal but that's where it is if you're hunting for it.
