Bump.
Bump.
For my part with your image, i can import the image without any background (i mean, it's a Transparent Working background).
Importing with 2 methods:
First, just drag & dropped the file (.png) into my Frame, and then, choosing create a new active object.
Two, just import within the Image Editor of MMF2.
Theses two methods works very well.
(tested in MMF2 no HWA, and HWA also works.)
I think the: "Transparent" parameter in your Object parameter seems be ticked ON..
Just untick it.
(because, immediately if i tick on the parameter, then, the background filled with black solid color, if i untick, then it's transparent.)
So, check it out.
BackStaged, your steps work if I click and drag the image into the frame (it becomes a transparent active picture. However, if I create a new active object, open it up, and click the "Import" button, the transparent images imported from there show up with a black background, which I cannot get rid of even if I uncheck the "transparent" parameter.
Disregard my previous post.
The problem isn't getting the transparency to show up, it's that certain black areas within my sprite itself also become transparent.
My .png file has transparency, but MMF automatically sets its background to black upon import, which makes black areas of my sprite (like the hair shading, eyebrows, etc.) become transparent as well.

Ok, here's an image of how I import a png with transparency.
You can see i've changed the "Transparent Color" to another colour which my image doesn't contain, so I can keep the black areas.
You don't need to worry about the transparency from the PNG file as MMF handles that automatically.

As you can see, the black background still shows up :\

The Games Factory 2 does not support Alpha Channels.

Ow, ok, it's the Game Factory not Multimedia Fusion.. ow..
This is why you cannot import transparent PNG with Alpha Channel.
So, just use a flashy pink color for take it back into transparent color.
Hum.. by the way, it's you the author of MapleEngine V02 ?
Gah...my game design class instructor told us MMF2 wasn't worth the extra $$ >.>
Any way of upgrading from TGF2 --> MMF2 without paying full price?
And I would use Photoshop to just replace the background with bright pink/green, but I have literally hundreds of animations that would need "fixing".
