    Help with snap to grid.

    Hi,
I'm trying to make a snap to grid application ( for my mobile phn) but my question isn't java related.
I have about 10 actives that I need to snap to a grid, for a rough house plan. The actives represent rooms ect. I started with the example from Nivrams web site, but can't seem to be able to swap from one active to the next. As in, I can drag , say, three rooms of the one type across, but when I select the next room ( active) the previous actives are affected.
I'll upload the mfa file as soon as I work out how. Thanks in advance.

    Set X to X/grid*grid

    For example, a 16px grid

Set X Position of Active to X("Active")/16*16

Hi Jacob, I did that part Ok. It's a problem with multiple actives that I have.
Thanks all the same for your reply. I'm thinking along the lines of a second layer.

Re: Help with snap to grid.

Are you saying that you want the actives to be linked to eachoter?
So if you move one active the previous ones move with it?
If thats the case its quite easy to do and a number of way to accomplish this.
One simple way would be to assign the actives to a certain group.
Use one of their alterable values to store this number and then whenever you move an active, start a fastloop for the number of actives there are and compare their alterable value to the group of the active you moved.
If they are matched then you know its part of the same group and should move along with the 'parent'.

Or have I misunderstood what you are asking?
