Edit Object - Window Default Beep Sound

Well, this is a simple question, I'm currently using the edit object extension, the player types a message, and press 'Enter', then the message goes. The problem is every time he sends the message, that annoying windows default beep sound is played. I tested, and only when he press 'Enter' that happens. Every other key is fine. But it really needs to be enter, and without that sound. Does someone know how to fix this?

No beep here, could you post an example application?

Chane it to use multiline and auto vertical scroll, then just remove the new line after they press enter. Don't forget to make it lose focus if you don't change frames.
Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

Beep can be disabled through the control panel. But it would be great if we can hook events function to drop annoying keys (not only [Enter] but [Ctrl] + [...] too).

I don't have taken a deep look inside but it seems feasible. An idea would be to add for each controls, an immediate condition started on input, an expression returning the input, and an action allowing MMF users to drop the input. (this is just the first idea I have, if something better can be done I'm not against )

Re: Edit Object - Window Default Beep Sound

Hi - Please can you help me. I have a similar problem, but with the combo-box. whenever a user enters text in the text entry area and then presses [enter] to save it - that irritating beep plays its unwanted sound.

I have created a button as well which does the same thing without the beep. But the natural instinct I think is to just press enter as your hands are already on the keyboard.

If I change the combo box type to 'simple' there is no beep but I really need to use it as a 'dropdown'. I have also tried to use the volume Object to mute the sound briefly But I cant get it to work with windows sounds, It only seems to work Within the app. Is there any other way to control windows / system sounds.

    I am using Vista and MMF2Dev 250.

Any help would be muchly appreciated.

    Thanks...
