Flash - Directional Bug with Vector Movement Type

MMF version: MMF2.0 Standard Build 249

You'll need the Flash Export Plugin to build the file and see the bug in action, I can't upload the fla file(the filetype isn't allowed on the fourm).

I've found a bug with the Vector Movement in flash.

The movement physics work fine over both versions, but in the fla version of the game, the object is not facing the correct direction. However, in the MMF2 test run and exe it works fine.

I've put together a quick example project to show the bug. There are only two events, setting the object and then after 1 second using the Clickteam Movement Object to change it's direction to 90 degrees.

In the EXE and in MMF2's test enviorment, the code works fine. The object looks "up" after 1 second, and the red part rotates the direction it's facing.

If you try compiling and running a flash version of the exe, you'll notice the object is rotated very far off the correct direction.

FLA is not flash, it's just images to make an animation, similar to FLC.

Anyway, I can confirm the bug. It points in a strange left by left down direction.
Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

Ah, right. I get those two formats mixed up, sorry. Of course I meant the swf file.

This bug is currently putting a few of my games on hold, so it would be very nice to see it fixed as soon as possible.

For now, I guess a work around is to custom program some movements using Sine/Cosine formulas and alterable values. But that's certainly not the best solution, the swf runtime has the movement loading already, and in addition fastloops(which are pretty nessessary for that type of movement's interactions) slow down the flash game really quickly.

I'll just have to work on something else that doesn't use this type of movement till the next update. Thanks for confirming the bug LB, now I know I'm not just going crazy.
