What keeps you from developing a MMF2 extension?

I am curious, if some of you know how to program (other than in MMF2) what keeps you from writing an extension? Polls are open!

This is an interesting idea for a poll.

The final question is missing one answer though: Some people simply don't want to write an extension.

The answer is a combination of "I already write extensions" and "I don't have the time necessary". Also to an extent, it's bothersome to worry about all the different runtimes, with their different limitations or even complete lack of SDK/documentation.

It's a combination of lack of time and lack of skill that keeps me from making extensions.

Re: What keeps you from developing a MMF2 extension?

I know some C++ and I have wrote an extension using rSDK, but it doesn't have enough features to release. Plus Windows errors occur on some systems when it tries to access drives (drive not ready). So I haven't released any yet.

Re: What keeps you from developing a MMF2 extension?

I haven't released anything yet because what i have made is mainly designed for my use only with things like value storage and maths calculations. Some of it would be possible with other objects and expressions also i am guessing so they might not be useful to people anyway.

The other code types i know like Lua and python etc i can use directly in MMF now and hopefully actionscript soon also. I also hope MMF3 has support for this also, if not i will probably just keep working with MMF2 until someone makes a object for it. I am not a master coder like some here but i am fairly happy when working with code now so having the option to test something like OpenGL with XLua directly in MMF2 is really great.

I found it hard to get started because when i started with the rSDK i got errors i had to fix and also there is not much documentation. What would be great is maybe wiki articles that explain certain tasks of extension development like playing sounds, showing/editing images and moving/interacting with various MMF things or other objects etc. Code snippets and quick tips for things like optimizations would also be great.
