    Network game with database connection

I am newbies to game factory 2.

All master please help, I just wonder whether Gamefactory can use to develop any networking games with connection to the database. Just like poker with 4 players to play by connecting to a common server which served as a dealer with a deck of card.

    Thanks in advance!

Good luck, and remember MooClick can make network games, though it is a bit buggy.

    If I may suggest...use Lacewing. http://www.clickteam.com/epicenter/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=80&page=1

Sorry and never mind, as you can not use extensions in TGF.

You run a moo server, or choose a public one. Then tell the game to connect to that server, set a name for the player and join a game room. Use the "send" action on the mooclick object to send information about what a player is doing, and the "on message" (IIRC) condition and associated expression to get the information on the other side, and use it however you want. I recommend you find a tutorial if you're interested, it's not simple.

MooSock is for raw data connections, you can use it to speak to other (non-MMF) applications. There have even been experiments using moosock to run a webserver, or connect to FTP...

    The Clickteam tutorials page

Specifically the MooClick tutorial on that page.

(It uses the string parser 2 extension to send x,y position in one message and split them back up at the other end, I don't know if TGF2 has this or not)
