Drawing in MMF2 Developer - Curving lines?

    Hey there,

I'm using MMF2 Developer to draw graphics for a game I am working on. Everything is going awesome, but I was wondering if there is a way to draw a line and curve it using anchor points, similar to what you can do in Microsoft Paint. I looked around in the forums and at some tutorials on the site but couldn't seem to find anything. Apologies in advance if I overlooked it.

    Thanks!

You mean in the animation editor or through events? If it is the first then as far as I know you can't. If it the second then there might be things you could try maybe using the surface object but I can't think of much else. In any case there's nothing out of the box that resembles what you are looking for and you'll probably need to make a custom engine.

Yes, I am talking about the animation editor. Sorry for not being very clear... I'm fairly new to MMF2.

No biggie I guess. I can live without it

    Thanks for the help keokeo!

All power to you if you are using MMF animation editor to develop your graphics. It definitely has capability but I would recommend using a dedicated graphics prog. and importing into MMF. I have photoshop but mostly use a vector prog (Xara) to draw and then export as png then import. One of the main reasons for this is editing - I often change my mind about an image. Also curves/anchor points - this is where vector imaging excels.

I modify a lot of clipart and, again, vectors are the way to go.

    either way - have fun

Those 'curve lines' are bezier curves. MMF does not have that line curving built into its animation editor, which is a shame- hopefully MMF3 will have a more expansive editor and vector art. But bezier curves can still be done in MMF2, if not in animation editting:

As others say, its sometimes beneficial to use other programs to generate your graphics and then import them into MMF2. Just like how flash uses photoshop, etc.
