    Paste image into background issue.

Im trying to paste my scaled active objects into the background. But when i do so they are instantly taken back to their normal size. Not the scaled size that the Active object had. This is the same with rotation. Any tips? Work arounds on this one?

What i want to do is to paste the Active object into the background keeping its rotation and scale.

Yes it's a known issue, I don't know when it will be fixed.

This issue is hanging up an important feature for my app that I've been working on for a year.

Re: Paste image into background issue.

The main problem is that backdrop objects have no angle/size information, so adding a stretched / rotationed backdrop would add a new image each time you add a new backdrop, this can explode the memory very quickly.

You'll say that this is not a problem for Paste into Background, and you'd be right, but only in the normal version, not in the HWA version where Paste into background is identical to Add Backdrop. To fix this issue we would need to add angle/dimensions to backdrop objects at least in the HWA version and this is a bit too much given our task list right now.

Re: Paste image into background issue.

You could use the Surface object to draw your objects into. If you keep a big enough surface you can "paste" as many objects into it as you like without the memory usage going up all the time (though a big surface will take a lot of memory but only once).
Another big plus is that the objects doesn't go away when you scroll. You could also keep the surface object the same size as the window and untick the "Follow frame" option and then with a little eventing make it scroll the contents of the surface object when the screen scrolls. That will effectively fake the old "paste into background" feature from the non-HWA runtime.

It's completely fixed at least when I try it on Windows and exported to Android.
