Configure Control Pad (Logitech) for game

I know next to nothing about what is required to play my game with a Logitech F310 USB gamepad. I have installed the included software and have mapped the keys I use in my game to the control pad's buttons, but there's some middle step I'm missing in actually getting the game and the control pad to communicate. Would anyone mind walking me through the process to getting control of my application via external control pad?

There is the Game Pad extension that you can use. I have used it in the past and it works.

Re: Configure Control Pad (Logitech) for game

I am able to make it read the joypad, but the problem is I have up until now been programming commands that use the keyboard. Without having to go through my events and change all the (for instance) "A" keys to "Fire 1" buttons, is there a way that I can get the joypad to map to the key commands?

I believe that not, because from what I know you can't state Joypad keys via actions.
