Communicate with PayPal or my website?

Trying to make an app that requires you to buy bids.. like a penny auction kind of.

1.) I have built an auction and bidding interface.. I just need a Secure way to ensure the user has paid for the bids that they are using. And a near-instant way of displaying the newly-purchased bids.

2.) I also need to stream text of bidders in the application.

I plan on using this on a website, and hopefully facebook, though i will have to check their policies.

So any help with these 2 questions is much appreciated, thankyou!

Re: Communicate with PayPal or my website?

yeah i thought it was some cool interface that made it easy to sell virtual goods such as bids.... im now just looking into paypal's payment data transfer option to confirm a payment at the server , then sending the message granting the bids to the client. Is this secure? and I CANT find the get-object anywhere? Could someone post a link perhaps?

Here is the Get object. And it may be secure, it may not be. I'm not an expert with it, but I really think it shouldn't be done in flash... why does it need to be in flash instead of a web page on an HTTPS server?

what do u mean? if you're asking why the whole app isn't on a webpage in html.. its because i dont know html.lol.. but If there is another way to implement MMF apps into a website without flash or java, let me know. thank you very much!

Well what I meant is, you probably should not be doing this in MMF2 at all. And normally you wouldn't use HTML anyway...you'd use PHP or some other form of secure server-side scripting language. Like I said, I'm no expert, I just know that these things are generally done differently.

If you insist on doing it in MMF2, then the Get object is your best chance.

Mochi Coins aren't equivalent to money, but when the user buys something in your game, you get 60% of the value paid for those Mochi Coins. The hassle here is some Mochi Coins are free, eg they come as a bonus if you buy a certain amount. Developers get no money for these.

WHAT?? I didn't know that! How do they keep track of which coins were freebie vs paid? So Mochi entices people with free coins at the expense of the game developers?!
