Re: Internal List Object 1.6 Beta 3 Update

I don't! A linked list would be accessed in an identical way to a contiguous array from MMF. Most people worry about optimisation later, and they wouldn't want to go through replacing all references to the object.

You could also look into implementing something like this, which has fast insertions/removals and can quickly retrieve an element by index.

Re: Internal List Object 1.6 Beta 3 Update

So, to clarify, do you want a property to be changed at edit time, or would you want to be able to use both types of lists at runtime?

Internal List Object 1.6 Beta 4 - Linked Lists!

I'm not sure if I've done exactly what you wanted with the linked list mechanics, Jamie.

Internal List Object 1.6 Beta 4: http://www.LB-Stuff.com/MMF2/Extensi..._1.6_Beta4.zip (Make sure you have the latest build of MMF2, build 254)

This version adds Linked List support and separates Contiguous and Linked lists with submenus. To reduce annoyance for those who only use one type of list, it will remember which type of list you last used and pre-expand that submenu for your convenience the next time.
Please test the new linked lists thoroughly!
I also redesigned the way I handle the properties because Jaffob found some rather strange behavior. They should be fully compatible with the previous versions of ILO, but make backups of your project in case.
You can now set the linked lists through the properties just as you could set the contiguous lists. They use the same list delimiter and item delimiter, and escape string.
Escaping the item delimiter in the list properties should now work correctly.
The version is displayed at the first property from now on.
I have updated the examples. I think the new build of MMF2 seems to have bloated their 50~70kb sizes to over 200kb, as I have noticed this with other MFAs I have that do not use ILO.

Now after having replaced the old version and trying to run the new example i noticed this does not work for me, it has a error which says it cannot find the extension.

Edit - After updating to the new MMF2 version it works great.

No, that's not what I meant. With STL, you access a vector and a list in mostly the same way - the only difference is in performance.

I was suggesting that you'd have one set of actions/conditions/expressions for accessing the list, and then make the choice between a contiguous array and linked list a property. Users would then be able to compare the performance and choose which to use later in development, without replacing a bunch of actions/expressions.

How are they accessed the same way? Vectors are accessed by index or iterator, and lists are accessed only by iterator... If you mean iterators, then users would have to replace a lot of A/C/E whether they wanted to or not - I did not want to force such a large change onto users. How do you suggest I design it?

Any chance of making this extension for the Anaconda Runtime?
