How do I make a simple platformer?

In our new game we want to make a simple platformer where you player can control the character, but only move left or right, but I want them to be able to jump up with the space bar. I think I know how to limit them to only moving left and right, but I dont know how I can make them jump. Do anyone of you know how to do so?

Are you using the default platform movement? To change the jump button for that, go to the application properties and select the Runtime Options tab. You should see a button to edit the default controls.

If you don't wanna hold left or right to jump you can go to the characters options and change the jump to "Button 1" Then go to application properties - runtime options and default controls of the player 1 and change Button 1 to Space

Check out Chaos's Custom Platform Movement example on the site. Its great! but to get you started, you could try playing with the platform movement object :cool:

I second PMO if you are using default platform movement.
