Does making off screen objects invisible make it faster?

OK, I have my app, but it's running at 20 FPS... I've tried all these optimization techniques, but still it runs slowly.

I can provide any and all information, but I need to optimize this QUICKLY, so I ask kindly for your help!

Have you tried to set the framerate to 60 and check Vsync to ON? I just found out that I got a boost of about 5 FPS with these settings.

Another thing to know, which was already mentioned by several users, when you build your app as "iOS Final Xcode project" you should also get a little FPS boost (the benefit probably varies according to the app).

And one last tip, in Xcode change the build configuration of the Run scheme from Debug to Release. By doing this, you app will [Run] a little faster when testing on your device.
Do this: select Product > Edit Scheme then in the Scheme Editor select Run app_name.app > Info > Build Configuration: Release. See pic below.

As this thread is about making apps run faster, I'd like to hear an official word about using the framerate and vsync settings. What are the recommended settings?

Olivier, it's been my experience that using a framerate other than 60 causes stuttering. The iOS refresh rate is locked at 60Hz from what I've read online, so any rate that isn't a clean division of that either drops frames or repeats them irregularly.

So I'd recommend keeping V-Sync on, because even if a lower framerate would be consistent, it would still appear to the user to be less reponsive.
I cringe whenever I use an app that has less that 60 fps as default.

It's worth removing things from your app to maintain a constant framerate.

Yes I'm making my best to optimize my app everywhere I can, following guidelines etc.. but I still have a hard time reaching 60 FPS. I recently found out that by checking v-sync ON I was having a better framerate of about +5. At first I thought that the v-sync setting was unavailable for the iOS runtime.

I find that the controls in my game are not responsive enough, with or without v-sync. I still hope that Clickteam finds a better fix for the input lag mentioned here:

    - Less input lag when using Vsync (can still cause input lag if you have a complex game and have Vsync turned on, working on this)
