    Yars Revenge clone?

Hi, I was hoping someone could give me a bit of insight on a game I was wanting to do a clone of, Yars Revenge from the old Atari 2600.
Im still pretty new to MMF2 and Im still working on the tutorials, but the more I go along Im trying to work in my head how that would work.
My biggest question would be how to make the wall that Yar is supposed to eat at or shoot thru?
My first guess would be to make a small square and duplicate it (or clone, still unsure on how those both work) and basically build the wall out of it. Logic tells me that that many objects on the screen tho would KILL the cpu.
Second guessing, I would assume it may be something else like a bitmap or something that can be altered by Yars touch.
Once again, not real adept at MMF2 yet, but im getting there. Any answers or ideas you can throw my way would be great!
    Thanks!
    Jeff

Large numbers of objects in themselves shouldn't be a problem, though it depends on what you're doing with them (make sure you adjust the 'maximum objects' in your frame properties to suit, though). I'm looking at a Youtube video of it just now, and I'm estimating that it would take about 200 to 300 squares?

Any of those methods would work, and you wouldn't be using enough actives to cause any slowdown.

Personally, I'd use a backdrop object for the wall (set to "obstacle"). When part of the wall is destroyed, you just paste a black square into the background, using the option "not an obstacle". Couldn't be much simpler.
