since my only test device (for now) is a 3GS I'm thinking it couldn't hurt to optimise for the lowest common denominator. Also my girlfriend still has a 3GS and I want her to be able to play :P

    Retina Resolution Graphics?

Also I do still know a lot of people with a 3GS, so it can't hurt, but in my view, if you have to compromise for performance on 3GS, just let it run badly on there, people are to the point now where they expect games to stutter on 3rd gen stuff anyway. Most people upgrade their phone contract every 2 years, but a lot of people go for the previous generation of iPhone when they do in order to save cash, so aim for about 3 years back.

One downside of MMF is that unless we use all built in movements or use dynamic x and y movements based on the current framerate, our projects slow down rather than drop frames. Luckily 4th gen devices onwards can handle most of what we throw at them.

I think the weakest device to aim for is iPod Touch 4 (less memory than iPhone 4), if something runs well on that then generally people are gonna be happy.

How you can check the device resolution at the launch of the game to jump to the good frame ?

    Retina Resolution Graphics?

You can't, unless you use the "get device" extension, but MMF will automatically scale down the graphics for you.

    Hi Guys

I would really like to know of the downscaling feature of HD graphics on SD devices has been implemented.

I'm not talking about just taking a 1080p game and running it on a iPhone3gs, but actually reworking the graphics on startup so it's not taxing on the device.

    Thank you in advance!
