    youyouwin / chinese distribution news

    hi all,

youyouwin have updated their system so that custom script is not required, the user in theory can just upload a swf and their server sticks on the ads wrapper:

    http://youyouwin.com/dev/

i have tried uploading a couple of games, and it shows a white screen.

i have talked to their tech support, and i dont really understand the problem:

"you have to replace loader info by contentLoaderInfo."

    does that mean anything?

Sorry, I can't help you, just wanted to add that I don't care anymore about YYW after reading this discussion on Mochi.

I don't see why dealing with YYW is more than a waste of time.

well that is a shame about what people are saying regarding ecpm and yyw.

they have been very friendly and fast to reply with any issues i have regarding the chinese flash market.

i have not got ANY emails from mochi about the same subject, translations, help etc.

That's what I would expect with a SWF created by MMF. I have carried out extensive testing with numerous methods and SWF tools including utilities I have hand-coded in Actionscript 3, and I cannot get anything other than a white screen.

Some very basic MMF SWFs embedded into Actionscript code successfully, but I gave up in the end. From the few threads I have read which refer to others trying the same sort of thing, they have failed similarly.

ClickTeam are, as I understand it, unable to offer any reason for this happening. It's a real pain, because it means that all sponsor screens have to be hand-coded in MMF which is very time-consuming.

In this particular case, the problem of "white screen" is already solved, thanks to YouYouWin (who sent me instructions as to why exactly it doesn't work and what has to be done) and Francois (who, unlike me, knew what they're talking about and implemented it blindingly fast) - I already have a working game uploaded on YouYouWin.

I assume Francois will drop by and shed more light on the situation later.

The next version of the FLash exporter will work : we have actually replaced loadinfo by contentloaderinfo.

That's great news if it means that we will be able to embed MMF SWFs into 'standard' SWFS.

Are you able to advise if the 'next version' of the Flash exporter will be a free update to the existing version or a chargeable upgrade?

I would assume it will be a free update for all owners of the exporter.
