    Adobe AIR application from SWF?

Does anyone know if it's possible to build an adobe AIR application from a SWF?

    Thanks.

Re: Adobe AIR application from SWF?

    I just found this:

    http://blog.pixelingene.com/?p=216
    and
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5323974/loading-external-swf-into-air-application

apparently it's possible to load external swf's.

So beyond that it seems like it might not be possible, unless there's a way to package the swf into the air app somehow.

I suppose the proper place to ask would be the adobe forums, but I thought I'd try here first.

    Thanks for you detailed answer.

I think we'll still have to wait for the "embedded MMF SWF white-screen problem" to be resolved as discussed in this thread...

AIR apps would be really cool since they can be multi platform like iOS, Android and BlackBerry as well as windows. It would probably need to have a new runtime though if ever made possible from MMF.

Apps can be made via ActionScript but i think there is differences to regular flash development but i haven't researched it much.

Re: Adobe AIR application from SWF?

I asked over at adobe and they said it's possible.

Aaand on top of that I managed to compile my swf as a WebOS app, and it runs in the Blackberry Playbook simulator just fine, which is what I wanted so I guess that makes the AIR idea pointless.

Also if I understand correctly Francois found the problem that was causing the white screen issue, so I think it'll be fixed in the next update.

Thanks for all the help guys!

Ah so you can just package a SWF after it's built. It's good to know it is possible, thanks for the info.

I'm also very interested in how you compiled your program for webOS. What version of webOS can it run on, and did you compile it as a PDK app? Also, how well does it run?
