    Flag Based Inferior-Position Menu Bar

I created a menu bar that pops up at the bottom of the screen when the mouse is hovering at there. That function works fine. What doesn't seem to be working write is the "Controls" button, is supposed to create an additional text superior to it and turn on a flag of another out-of-screen object when clicked. Then when that objects flag is on and "Controls" is clicked again, it supposed to destroy the additional text. When I have the flags set up though, nothing happens upon clicking "Controls." I need help.

Are you checking if the flag is active/inactive during that event?
Not much anyone can really suggest without some form of code example

There are only three events that have to do with the button.
    1. Start of frame: set flag 1 off [under C. Flagger (the object)]
    2. C. Flagger: internal flag 1 is off; check for user mouse over "Controls" (the string); user clicks "Controls": create Extentsion (the additional text) at (0, 390); set flag 1 on [under C. Flagger]
    3. C. Flagger internal flag 1 is on; check for user mouse over "Controls"; user clicks "Controls": destroy [under Extension]

Re: Flag Based Inferior-Position Menu Bar

    Try this instead-
    1. Start of frame: Set flag 1 off
    2. (One action while event loops) Flag is off: Create text
    3. (One action while event loops) Flag is on: Destory text.
    4. Check for mouse over "Controls" + User clicks "Controls": Toggle Flag 1

Remember, code is read downwards, and whatever is closest to the bottom of your coding will usually be displayed. Since (On your 3 lines of code) line 2 is checking for a click if the flag is off, it turns the flag off, then proceeds to line 3, which immediatly switches the flag back to off. After that, the result is drawn onscreen, and ofcourse, it just looks like nothing happened. It's 4:30am here, so I hope my explaining made any sense at all

Re: Flag Based Inferior-Position Menu Bar

Like Jase said, the code is being read downwards. It reads the second event, and by the time it gets to the third event, the flag is on - and the click still registers. So the Extension is destroyed. Just thought I'd try clarifying, although it's late here too so I'm probably sounding like crap.
