    Re: [Beta] Advanced Flash Sound

    The Problem on the Flash-Streaming is, you can't change the soundvolume when the sound is playing. Change the Sound and play the Sound again (on the current timestamp). See my example

    If I'm correct you could try a little trick - always when you change volume remember current timestampt and replay the sound from it with a new volume, so it should work as a standard volume control.

    Still I'm not sure how it would influence quality of the streaming (would it cut it off or remember it) but hey, worth a try.

    That's what Pharanygitis suggested. Theoretically it should be seamless if the MP3 has buffered, otherwise other Flash apps such as the YouTube video would struggle with volume changes.

    Not meaning to change the subject, but can mp3 files be imbedded in the app?

    Re: [Beta] Advanced Flash Sound

    Flash embeds MP3s as default. Any .wav or .ogg file is converted to an MP3 on compile. If you want mp3s in your game, just convert them to .wav and use the regular 'Play sound' action.

    I know there is some quality loss by going from MP3->WAV->MP3, but really you should only be dealing with wav files until compiling if you want to maintain the highest quality.

    Can you stream .ogg files with this? I've just tried and the application crashes. I wonder if it's the .ogg file or just me doing something wrong.

    There is probably a problem in my flex config file but I just wanted to ask to make sure, whenever I try to build a flash program with this extension I get the following errer output:

    Loading configuration file D:\Programming\Multimedia Fusion Developer 2\Data\Runtime\Flash\Flex\frameworks\flex-config.xml
    C:\Documents and Settings\TimEllis\Local Settings\Temp\Fla169.tmp\Extensions\AdvancedSoundS torage.as(7): col: 21 Error: Definition flash.media:SoundCodec could not be found.

    import flash.media.SoundCodec;
    ^

    What needs to be done to fix this?
    Thanks
