    Input Extension and Dialog Request

One thing that exists in the dialog but does not exist as a regular input on MMF is tabs. I like to use tabs to organize input screens. Right now on a app I'm developing I'm just doing most of the input in a dialog.

In regards to dialogs it would be nice to have a bit more control over formatting.

1.) Be able to add images to a dialog.

2.) Format text. When doing a label (i.e. Static Text) there's no formatting options. Font type, style, size, color.

3.) X/Y coordinates. In MMF I can align other editboxes and other objects up perfectly by modifying the X/Y value in the objects properties. It would be nice to be able to do similar to objects (or controls? if that's what they're called) in dialog boxes.

The three points I was speaking of was in reference to improvements to the DialogBox object? When you say Dialog object, is that what you were referring to?

Yes. You can use images in Dialog Object, as well as font formatting.

How? I've never seen an image option in dialogs.

Re: Input Extension and Dialog Request

Can I just add to this that I also wish for a good tab extension. I know there is one but it's not like the standard windows one where you can add objects to the tabs and there automatically made visible or not depending on the tab sheet your editing. This is essential at design time. With the current tab object you have to hide and show using events which only become active at runtime so you end up with lots of objects all in the frame overlapping. It becomes very difficult to work with.

    Just my opinion.

    Thanks
    Andy

Re: Input Extension and Dialog Request

Do you mean inside the dialogbox object or in MMF's frame editor? MMF doesn't support "container" objects, so it's impossible to make a tab control object that actually contained objects in each tab page.

I'm speaking of within the frame editor. Such as a tab object like you have in Visual Studio.

Thanks Stephen. I never knew about that image using the static box.

Re: Input Extension and Dialog Request

Maybe the dialog box object could be adapted to also support in-application dialog boxes (without a window) so you could easily create your tabbed interface like that?
Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3
