Showing Score Points when Score is gained?

In my game, I want a number to float from a target when it is broken. The number signifies the amount of points gained. There is a combo multiplier.

My question is: How do I make a number float from a target when it is hit, and then fade away. How do I change that number to represent the amount of score gained?

    Thanks!

    Re: Showing Damage Points?

You could create a counter and make its maximum value something like 10000000 and then add to its maximum value until it equals 10000128 (totally invisible) and make its semi-transparency ink effect maximum value - 10000000. Then make a condition that checks if the counter's semi transparency is 128 and destroy it.

You could set the score gained in the value of the counter and then add to the score the value of the counter, to make it more unified.
