    [Request] MMF2 Create Object From Expression

    Would it be possible to make an extension to the Create Object object in MMF2 where instead of writing a line of code for every object you want to create, you could say "Create Object with Fixed Value of X"

    If possible, would we be able to pull objects from other Frames and even other Applications like with normal Create Object functions? Like so:
    "Create Object with Fixed Value X from Application Y, Frame 3"

    This would be immensely helpful with level editors, loading and creating the levels would require so much less code. Anyone up for creating this?

    There is no way to create objects directly from an extension. I would have killed for this to be included in the SDK (well, not that extreme).

    Last I heard, someone in CT was working on such an extension by modifying MMF2 but I never heard back on it.

    Just a fyi, "Create Object with Fixed Value of X" wouldn't be possible if there were no objects of that type already in the frame
    Maybe that's why that action has not been added?

    You could always then use "Last X was destroyed" Create Object (with standard conditions).

    Francois added a new feature to the runtime and SDK to get the action/condition/expression calltables from the default objects. With that I have created an extension that is able to create an object from an expression (the object name).

    You will not be able to give it a fixed value though. The MMF2 runtime decides that one based on a creation ID and a memory address.

    It will be released soon. (note: will only work in the latest version)

    Omg win! Will this work with pulling objects from other frames and applications? And will it be supported on iDevices (whenever you guys get around to releasing that )?

    Also how soon is soon?

    It will especially be very useful for level editors and manual level loading from text files

    It will only work with objects that exist in the frame already. I cannot with code add objects to the frame that wasn't in the frame in the first place.

    Francois also recently added the feature to iOS so I will be able to port it easily. I don't know if it was added to Flash.
