"Unkown Format", "Failed to open document"

I Just finished working on my game, but for some reason when I booted up MM2 today it decided to read the above error messages to me. MMF2 still runs. I don't know what's going on. Can anyone help get my game back online? I will send the game if necessary. zaberack@yahoo.com

Did you never back up your game? Is it possible the file got corrupted durring the last save as in it didn't get to finish saving?

I've been using MMF2 for as long as its been out and have never had this issue... but ALWAYS back up your work at any relivant lilestone..with a different name and prefferably on several forms of storage in multiple places...

I use an FTP to back up my projects on my webspace as well.

I hope Clickteam can fix your issue for you but its very unlikely it's their fault.

    good luck.

Not that it's a big deal, but I'd suggest putting your email down as zaberack at yahoo dot com, just to stop spam bots crawling the web from logging your email.

Thanks both of you. No, I'm pretty sure I didn't back it up, but here's the weird thing: I looked around and found a slightly older version of the game and it did the same thing. It just keeps saying invalid format.

    Try reinstalling MMF?

Are you sure you havent saved your game with the unicode version of mmf, and try to open it with the normal version?

I am sure I haven't, Francois, thank you though. I did re-install it. I am guessing that it was corrupted somehow, but if anyone figures something out please let me know.

Re: "Unkown Format", "Failed to open document"

There's a frequent problem of anti-virus program mastaking parts of Multimedia fusion for a virus and possibly removing it, which could cause big problems...I guess if you have anti-virus set to qaurantine without your permossion you should change that setting... just an idea, not sure if thats the actual cause of the problem.
I'm glad the reinstall worked.. now BACK UP LIKE CRAZY! Please learn this lesson from other peoples mistakes... every year or so you'll see a post here of someone loosing a their entire project because they didnt back up.

Re: "Unkown Format", "Failed to open document"

Here's more testament to backing up, although backing up wouldn't have solved this problem per say. I just now coincidentally had a problem in one of my finished games with INI++ 1.5's old actions causing MMF2 to crash when I hovered the mouse over them since I updated to INI++ 2.0. Luckily I was able to use the arrow keys to select the actions and press the delete key to clear them and replace them.

You don't have to backup your projects - just the ones you want to keep.
