    Problems with music files

I'm planning to publish a game to the browser, but I'm not sure what files to use for the music. MIDIs are not supported, WAVs are what I've been using, but they're too big, and I might be wrong about this, but I think the other music files can't be uploaded to mmf2 and have to be in an external file. Does anyone have any suggestions? Wav files seem to take up more than half of the game's memory, so I'm hoping someone has a better option.

Use .ogg files. You can convert your wave files using e.g. Audacity. MMF will of course convert those to mp3 when building the Flash file, but ogg files are compatible with MMF and will make your MMF file a lot smaller to work with.

.ogg files don't need to be external files, right? Thanks for the input! I'll give it a try.

For SWF the only filetype will be mp3. All other filetypes are converted when building. The best format would be WAV I've heard.

Alternatively, you could use external mp3 music and stream it - causing less load time.
