How do I align Score Object?

This may be a dumb question. But I seem to remember in the CnC days, it was "automatic" based on Score's position in frame. I used to rack my brains trying to figure out how to align a Score, but to no avail. I use Strings these days because of this, although Score's 0 padding feature is really nice to have (it's kinda a pain to implement in a String....)

You mean align the score in frame? Align in Frame>Horizontal Center

I tend to just use String objects for display - I don't remember any alignment feature for the Score or Counter object (in fact, was the Text display type available for those in the earlier MMF versions?)

I really don't remember if text display was available, or not. All I do remember was that the object's "text" alignment changed automagically depending on the alignment in frame.

To answer your question Jacob: No, I didn't mean that. I specifically meant the text alignment within the object's borders...

You could use a string object and just set its Alterable String to Str$( score( "Player 1" ) )

I never noticed that auto-alignment, actually - that's quite interesting...!

I suppose I should mention that as far as 0-padding goes, I used to do it in an amazingly convoluted way before someone mentioned that you could just do Right$("0000000" + Str$(score), [length]).

Re: How do I align Score Object?

Why Right$()? If you're padding the left, Right$ works but is makes more sense to use Left$("0000000000", 10-len(Str$(score("Player 1"))))

Either way works but I like to do things that are intuitive ...to me, anyway, everyone thinks differently.

Re: How do I align Score Object?

    The Right$ version is simpler:
    Right$("0000000" + Str$(score("player 1")), 7)
    Left$("0000000", 7 - len(Str$(score("player 1")))) + Str$(score("player 1"))
