    Scrolling problem: Falling through platforms

Using the Scrolling Tutorial, I've set the frame to scroll automatically, one pixel at a time, to the right, which works fine, but at a point the player stops colliding with the platforms and simply falls through them. What's going on?

    Frame properties:
    Size: 550 x 400
    Virtual Width: 5500
    Virtual Height: 400

Using, for example: Local Library>Background>Tiles - Surface Textures>Metal plate 1

Metal plate 1's Obstacle type is Platform
    Player's movement type is Platform

Collision event is Active(player) collides with Background: Active>movement>stopped

Metal plate 1(Mp1) is aligned left, bottom, then duplicated(1 row, 15 colums, no spacing)
Platform obstacles(in this case, Mp1) work fine up until #11, at which point all collisions stop.
For this example, the last working platform is Mp1 #10, with the property Position X: 576
The next in line, Mp1 #11, is Position X: 640

Sorry if this is too much or not enough. Thanks in advance for your help.

Usually in situations like this the problem is simpler, yet totally difernet from what you'd expect. Are you POSITIVE that the tiles that the player are falling through are on the same layer and are set to obstacle?

People might really need to see your MFA to see exactly what the problem is.

    Here's the MFA:

All platforms have the exact same properties, as far as I can tell.
I've actually been using different "Metal plates #'s" because they all change at once.

Your collisions are outside the frame area. You need to make the virtual width and the frame width the same (5500).

Re: Scrolling problem: Falling through platforms

    *Facepalm* That's it, alright.

    Help file: "Size
Enter the size of your frame, in pixels. Warning, do not confuse the size of the frame and the size of the application window : the size of the frame is the actual size of the ground where your characters will move."

Tutorial: "Note: For scrolling to work, the playarea must be larger than the gamewindow."

Now that I read over it again, it looks like I not only confused the sizes, but also mistook the "playarea" as being the Virtual Size.
Although, the 10th Metal plate one is outside the frame area, too, and it's collision works...

    Anyway, thanks for the help!

Edit: Nevermind, it was the Help file's Virtual Width description that originally threw me off:
    "Virtual Width
Very useful for huge scrolling games: defines the virtual width of the frame. A large virtual width allows you to scroll on a large surface, larger than the frame itself. If the Wrap option is selected in a layer, the background of this layer will wrap automatically when it reaches the real width of the frame. For example, a frame size of 640x480 and a virtual width of 10000 will enable the player to scroll up to the position 10000 on the right without being stopped. If you enter -1 in this field the scrolling is quasi-infinite."

Thanks a bunch you totally helped out a noob, I probably would have been stuck overthinking the situation forever. Need to remember to lock the layers
